Invaluable resource

There are very few resources I've been able to use for many years, but this one is. I teacher 3rd-5th gifted and we have been able to use with all grade levels, providing a familiar "curriculum" that flows from year to year. There is literally more here than I could ever use in one year. Best thing I've ever bought on Teachers Pay Teachers. Well worth the cost!

Very thorough!

This is a great resource for use throughout the entire school year. I enjoyed the ease of use, and my students enjoyed growing their vocabularies!

Worth purchasing

I wrestled with whether to buy this or not... and I am glad that I did. I understand the cost of this product is high, but it is worth buying, especially since everything is planned for you. This bundle contains a large number of items. I mainly use the worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, and doodle notes. I also like the Google Version of the bundle.

Looks amazing!

I have bought and printed this out for the upcoming homeschool year and it looks amazing! I am really excited to use it and that usually translates to my kids being interested in something too. It is the right mix of predictable tasks (so I don't have to spend tons of time explaining directions) and unique activities to keep the kids and me interested (each interactive notbook piece is unique in design). I'll be using it with my 10th grader primarily but I anticipate my 5th grader being able to complete it with us. I'll update my review if I have any further observations throughout the year.

Do I need both Get to the Root of It books 1 and 2, in order to have resources for all of the roots in the interactive notebook? It's a little confusing. Thanks!

Teacher Thrive

The Interactive Notebook contains activities for every root in Books 1 and 2. It also contains additional roots that are not in the books.

Hi! There are a number of editing bubble notes in the practice pages of Book Two. When can we expect the noted errors to be corrected?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Dawn! I am so confused (and a bit panicked)—what "editing bubble notes" are you referring to. I just downloaded Book 1 of the printables and the doodle notes, and I am not seeing anything.

Karen M.

I noticed that grade 3 math assessments are now editable. I am interested in grade 6 daily math and assessments. Do you have plans to make either of these or both editable in the near future? Thank you, Karen

Teacher Thrive

Hi Karen! Right now I have someone helping me convert all the math reviews to editable PowerPoints. It’s quite a process, and I’m hoping to get them all completed by the end of the year.

Erin K.

I see that each book has the pages labels as "Unit #," and I was wondering if there is a reason words are in this order? Do later units refer to lessons learned earlier? Is there science to back up this exact order? I was hoping to have flexibility in the order I use these lessons in my room.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Erin! The unit numbers are arbitrary. You can pick and choose the units you want to teach and don’t have to follow any specific order:-). Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jillian J.

I love your product. I was implementing it just fine, as was the fourth grade teacher. We were told by our admin that it's "not developmentally appropriate for 5th grade." I don't agree. However, if you have any kind of literature/research backing your program up, I'd appreciate it.

Teacher Thrive

Hello! There are plenty of studies that point to the efficacy of teaching Greek and Latin roots to develop vocabulary. If you email me, I’d be happy to send you them. Info@teacherthrive.com

Kristen C.

Quick question, on the extra word list for unit 9, the last word listed is philander...is this a mistake?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! That was definitely a mistake and was corrected some time ago. How long ago did you download this? I would redownload to make sure you have the latest version.

Ashley S.

Hello, I am interested in purchasing this bundle. I was looking through your blog to see if you had a post on this in the classroom to see how it all comes together. I didn't find anything, to have a link to a blog post about this?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Ashley! I don't have a blog post like what you're describing. The resource is very robust and super flexible so that it can be utilized in a multitude of ways. If you send me an email with your specifics (grade level, special needs, etc.), I would be happy to share some ideas with you. GotToTeach@icloud.com

Stephanie H.

I LOVE this product! My students (self-contained juniors) have had such success with the repetition and frequency with which these words occur in our books and other classes. I am having difficulty opening Book 2 Unit 3 Powerpoint. Is it possible to get another copy of it so that I can print the posters for my students? Thank you so much!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Stephanie! I just checked the file and it's opening up just fine for me. Please contact TpT, as they have the ability to troubleshoot this with you directly.

Beth P.

I have just purchased the bundle and was downloading the file. It says it is password protected. I am using the same computer that I have downloaded many other files that have to be decompressed, so I don't believe it is on my end. Is there a password that I need?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Beth! You shouldn't need a password to access or print any of these files. Are you opening and printing from the latest version of Adobe Reader? If you are still having issues, please contact TpT, and they will get to the bottom of it.

Michelle A.

I am on a new campus this year. We are doing a combo spelling/vocab list of about 20 words some of which are Latin based and the other which is a workbook. Do you think it would be possible, using your product, for my team to create spelling list to last the year? At present, we do not have any formal resources to teach with and I'd like to be sure that yours will work before I purchase.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Michelle. I would say that is very possible. Each unit at 3 roots, so you should be able to find 20 words based on those roots, especially if you include spelling derivations. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
