Description
Greek and Latin Roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.
This resource combines the instructional value of Greek and Latin roots with the active engagement of Interactive Notebooks. Included are 120 Interactive Notebook activities that will help your students understand the meaning of several words related to over 130 different roots! Each root activity covers 3-8 preselected words. However, blank templates are also included so that you can select your own words. In addition to the Interactive Notebook pages, you will also get word and definition lists for each root.

Great resource
These are SO much fun to do with kids and it helps them truly understand roots!
Amazing resource
I use this resource almost every week with my students. It has everything you could ever need.
Fantastic resource!!
Another great resource from Teacher Thrive! Her products are top notch, and you will not regret purchasing any of her times.
I bought this, along with the Greek/Latin Sketch Notes and the worksheets, as well as the same products with the prefix/suffix focus. They are all amazing, and worth every. single. penny!
Interactive Notebook
This is an excellent resource. I like the step by step instructions as to how to put each page of this interactive notebook together. My middle school students are going to enjoy using this resource.
I love them
My kids really enjoyed these last year! I will use it again next year for sure.

Hello, I teach 6th and 8th ELA. Are there enough words in this item to use for both grades? Are quizzes included? I'm hoping to share one entry each week with each grade. Thank you.
Hello, Sara! Thanks for reaching out. This resource only includes the INB activities. This used to have a cover art page...I think...I have one, the font matches but its not showing up when I download it...I got this a decade ago and need to make a new exemplar (it lived a good life for sure) but it's time.
Hello, Kerin. I am not sure what cover page you are referring to. Please feel free to email me screenshots or more information. info@teacherthrive.com
Under Unit 11, I am missing the Uni interactive notebook worksheets. Could you please update it, so I have this material? Thanks!
Hello, Chantal. The INB activity is on page 621 of the resource.

Hi! Does the sketch include only book 1 words only or also book 2?
Hello! This resource covers all roots (and more) from Books 1 and 2 of the practice printables.
Hi. I really like this resource for my EL's. Is there an accompaniment book, more of a curriculum, that goes with this resource? Thanks!
Hi Jaime! Yes, the two resources in this bundle directly support this resource. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Greek-and-Latin-Roots-Vocabulary-Worksheets-Activities-Assessments-Books-1-2-962135
Would you be willing to add some to this. The curriculum I use has certain ones and there are a few I need! I really love this resource and would love to be consistent.
Hi Nicole,
Thanks for reaching out. While I don't have plans to add to this resource right now, you are welcome to email me suggestions for future updates. info@teacherthrive.com
Good morning,
I purchased this resource a few years ago, and it is wonderful. Unfortunately I’ve lost the digital version. Our district switched platforms, and a lot of what we backed up to OneDrive was lost.
I have the printed copy up to “phon”. Is there any way I could purchase everything after that? If I have to purchase the entire resource again, I completely understand.
I also have your Greek and Latin books 1&2 resources, and they are wonderful! There are so many vocabulary words that pop up in our literature and short stories.
Thank you!
Christine
Hello, Christine. No, you do not need to purchase this again. You can redownload the entire resource anytime under “my purchases.”
