Description
Greek and Latin Roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.
This HUGE 282-page resource covers over 60 Greek and Latin roots and 200 different words. Created for grades 4-8.
This listing is for the PRINTABLE version only. CLICK HERE for the DIGITAL version.

Wonderful resource!
I am so pleased with everything I've gotten from Teacher Thrive, and these worksheets and assessments are just as fantastic as her other products. These are the perfect addition to the sketch notes, and I'm so glad I got both!!
Thank you!!
Great Resource
This has been a great way to review base words with my students. I've paired it with the interactive notebooking pieces for a more complete study.
A very appealing resource for kids
I'm using this as an extension programme for my good spellers. The entire unit is well set out so that the students can work their way through the different levels and be tested along the way. They are really enjoying having the independence and are enjoying the format and tasks for this resource. Thank you.
Fabulous resource
This is just what I've been looking for when it comes to morphology practice. I'm looking forward to implementing it this school year. Thank you for creating this resource.
Good Resource
Easy to use and follow! Just print and go. Kids enjoyed it.

Hi,
Any chance you have a version with UK spelling?
Hello! Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, I only have these in US English spelling.
Hi: My school is using HMH Into Reading, 5th grade. Our first lessons in prefixes and suffixes is im, in, and dis, along with ty, and ity. I love your program but wondered how your units might align with HMH, if at all. Thank you!
Hello, Nancy! I have a separate resource that focuses on affixes you might want to check out. The preview file contains a list of all affixes covered in the resource. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Prefixes-and-Suffixes-Practice-Printables-Morphology-2271465
I am new to teaching middle school ELA and my students need morphology as part of their vocabulary instruction. I really like your resources! It is A LOT of information. Do you have an advice on how to break it up across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Also advice for incorporating prefixes and suffixes with the Greek and Latin roots. I'm going to have to incorporate this into the ELA curriculum I'm expected to teach (I have students an hour a day and teach literature, vocabulary, grammar, & writing).
Hello, Denys! Many teachers will use the Affixes Book for 6th grade, Book 1 for 7th grade, and Book 2 for 8th grade. I can also email you a sample one-week and two-week schedule that might be helpful. Please email me at info@teacherthrive.com.
Do you have an editable version of these? I purchased this set, but am wanting to mix and match a bit and would love to not have to literally cut and paste.
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide an editable version of this resource because I created it using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. While the PDFs are password-protected, permissions are set to allow for deleting, adding, or moving pages.
I bought this way back in 2018. What is this created on? Is there anyway you could send me an editable file?

I'm not sure how to use Easel...
I am working with the students to break apart the weekly words. For example, What resource would you use? I have been using etymology com, but I would feel better knowing that I had a reliable resource.
Hello, Alicia! Based on my experience, etymology has been pretty reliable. https://www.etymonline.com also looks like a good resource.
