Description
Greek and Latin Roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.
This HUGE 282-page resource covers over 60 Greek and Latin roots and 200 different words. Created for grades 4-8.

Great Way to Introduce Greek and Latin Roots
This resource really helped me when this was added to the standards. I need to teach myself before I could teach the students. This resource was able to do both.
Great Resource
This was a great resource that helped my students.
Vocab Unit
I built my vocab units around this resource last year and it worked out really well.
Love this!
We hit greek and latin roots hard in 5th grade. This is a great way to keep kiddos engaged.
Super useful resource in practicing morphology with upper grade students
I used this resource with a grade 8 class. The work was engaging for students.

Small typo on p. 114. Not a student page so no big deal. Really like this though! :)
Oh thanks! I'll fix and repost right away.
I love this and it is just what I need! This product covers 5 of the 20 that we are required to cover in fifth grade. Do you have or would you consider creating another product that covers di-,dif-,dis-; a,ab, abs; sur-, super; ad; pos, pon, posit; sid, sed, sess; cur, curs, cour; pes, pod; cray; ate; phobia; ped; sol, mon; rupt; leg, lig, lect; duct; grad, gress; struct
I do have plans to make more books with many of those roots included. However, it will won't be up for several weeks, as these take so long to make. Thank you for your interest!
