Description
Greek and Latin roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.

I love how you have organized the lists, very creative! I plan on beginning these after the holidays. I'll teach as many lists as I can. Next year, I'll begin in September!
Great!
Exactly what I had been looking for...plus so much more!
Love it! Best one I've found!!
Great resource. Thanks

Were the answers provided with the Book 1? I'm sorry, I meant the aswers for the worksheets.
Yes, the answer keys start around page 255, I believe. The Table of Contents tells you what page exactly.
Hi. I purchased this but am not seeing answer sheets with the units. Am I overlooking them somewhere? Thanks.
Hi Jennie! The answer keys can be found around page 255 for each PDF. There is a table of contents at the beginning of the resource that gives the exact page number.
Hi, I purchased this resource but was wondering where I can find the unit assessments. I see the different activities for each unit, but I cannot seem to locate the unit assessments. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello! They are located towards the end of the PDF. They start on or around page 255 for Book 1 and should be about the same for Book 2.
I will be using a combination of these lists in my 6th grade classroom. Is there a way to get them without the list numbers added or have the ability to edit the list numbers so that the list numbers can match up with my program?
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, no those are not editable.
Hi!
I've been using your Greek and Latin Roots packets and was wondering if the Word Wall section has a blank version for us to use if we'd like to make our own roots?
Thanks for reaching out! Yes, there are blanks of the Word Wall included in the PDFs. There are several, but you can start to find them on page 178 of the PDF for Book 1.
Is there a bundle price for digital books?
Thanks for reaching out! We do not have the digital versions as a bundle. We were able to automate the build-your-own-bundle process in our off-site store, making the process a lot easier for teachers and us. If you’d like to receive a discount on multiple resources, you can visit https://teacherthrive.com/byob
Do you ever have discounts or sales? If so, will you be having any soon?

I am interested in purchasing Greek and Latin Root Words Bundle {Books 1 & 2}
for my middle school ESL classroom. My district uses Canvas rather than Google Classroom. Is it possible for me to convert parts of the program into Canvas assignments and/or pages?
Thank you in advance,
Kate
I really don't need a digital version because it is in Google classroom format. If I buy the print version of the books, can I use it (or part of it) on the district-provided secure (password protected) Canvas classroom website with my middle school ELL students? I will convert what I need into Canvas pages and quizzes myself.
Thank you again,
Kate
Hi Kate! Thanks for reaching out. This particular bundle does not contain any digital components. However, we do have Books 1 & 2 available as Google Forms. If you are not using Google Classroom, you will need to add a short answer question to the top of each quiz that asks the students to input their names.
Please see the following videos.

I purchased this product previously. Is there an add on pack for the updated digital version? Or is it a completely new purchase?
Thanks for reaching out! Yes, these are separate resources as the digital versions take 100s of hours to create. Our digital versions are all created in Google Forms, so teachers can save time using the self-grading feature.

Hi, I was wondering how to implement these. We are currently having two roots a week, and the students look up the words. Do you have the students look up the words initially, or do you give them all of the words and definitions together? I am just wondering what best practice would be. I love the resource, and I want to do it right!
Hi Zach,
They shouldn't need to look up the words, as the definitions are provided on the first page of each unit. I recommend using the PowerPoints to intro the words, however.
