Description
Greek and Latin Roots PowerPoints! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks,” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.
Now you can easily present these essential components of English with these engaging and visually stunning PowerPoint presentations!
What’s included in this resource?
This resource is an extensive collection of 20 different PowerPoint presentations, each one covering three different roots. Each presentation includes ten high-utility words, one word per slide. Our grammar curriculum is very poor at my school, so this became my go-to! The only thing I would change is that it provides practice on a very surface level. I'd love to see more writing integrated. Other than that, it was great!
thanks
This is a great resource for review! I wish I had recognized prior to purchasing that each week is a mixed review rather than each quiz being focused on a particular objective or standard, which was what I had been hoping for. However, this again is very helpful in creating a cyclical review of math topics and determining what topics students still need support in learning.
Easy activity to do with any reading.
My child loved this!

I know there are assessments per unit, but do you by chance have any summative assessments that cover all the roots taught in Book 1?
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, we do not have a summative assessment covering all of the roots. However, we will keep this in mind for future projects!
Hi - Neither this or set 1 of the product will download as a zip. I have never had a problem with TPT zip files - please advise as to how to access my purchases.
Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry for this inconvenience. This appears to be an issue with TpT. Please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact
I eagerly await using the PPT, however, I found a typo in unit 19 book 2, democracy slide should say "citizens" not "citizen". Are you able to make this update? Thanks!
Hi Linda. I will correct right away. You are able to edit th PowerPoints, in the meantime.
