Description
Greek and Latin roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.

This has helped me support my son as he is expanding his vocabulary.
I used this resource during distance learning and then again this year when I returned to the classroom. I love the different options that accompany each week, so I can decide which activities I should assign to each individual class. It allows me to reach students at all levels using the same resource.
We are working our way through Book 1 but I just had to leave a review. My kids look forward to each unit every week. Even my 7th grader who swore he would hate learning about Latin has expressed how much he's enjoying it. Each unit has been very informative and there are great study tools for them. It's just right for our kids to learn together, as we have two 5th graders and one 7th grader. I am enjoying the lessons/units as well.
I highly recommend this resource.
A fantastic deal!
I found this resource to be well worth the money I spent. The words are defined with the part of speech, and the activities require students to use the vocabulary terms in real world circumstances. The analogy section was difficult for my students, so this prompted me to reteach the concept seeing as the majority of the students weren't showing mastery.
