Description
Greek and Latin roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.

I used this resource for 7th grade ELA. They struggled with analogies, but with some scaffolding, they improved. I love the sequential order of covering the roots.
I like this resource very much. There are a variety of activities to choose from. I do modify some of the activities because the vocabulary is sometimes too advanced for my tutoring students.
I love this resource. I really like that they are grouped by theme and that the activities are the same for each unit so once the kids are familiar with it they can work more independently through the units. Some of the words are challenging for 4th grade.
The Greek roots, prefixes, and suffixes PDF resource offers a comprehensive collection of word elements for vocabulary expansion. While lacking interactive features, its clear explanations and organized layout make it a valuable tool for understanding word origins and enhancing language skills.
Great resource. This will be used as my vocabulary and spelling for my eighth graders. I love all of the lessons that goes with each week. It saves me the time to find it.

Hello! I already have your interactive notebook and I LOVE IT! I want to add the worksheets and vocab list from this bundle, but I really don't need the concentration game or word wall. Are you willing to sell this bundle minus those things? (I would rather spend money on your power points!)
Hi there! I'm sorry but I can't take the concentration cards out to sell at a cheaper price. But I do hope you take advantage of today's sale. It's 28% off.
Do the assessments lend themselves to being used prior to teaching? I'd like to be able to determine what my students know before teaching.
Hello! You can download the preview to see exactly what the assessments look like and assess if they will meet your instructional ideas. I don't see why you couldn't use them as a pre-assessment.
I love your word study products. Are you planning on creating a book 3? I have a few roots more roots I need to be able to use your product for the entire year. :)
Hi Kathleen. I really want to make another book, cut I can't say for sure when or if that will happen. I am sorry I can't give you a more definite answer at this time.
This looks so awesome! I have this on my list of requisitions (and the powerpoints and interactive notebooks). I have no idea when the requisitions will be approved and I really want to see how this works with my students so I can prepare over the summer. Do you have a free sample of one of your units, or could I purchase one unit? I saw the mort- interactive notebook freebie so I will try that with my students, but I would love to try the entire mort- unit with activities. Thanks for considering this!
Hi Katie! Please email me your request at gottoteach@icloud.com and I will see what I can do. Thanks!
Hi! I love this product! It saves me TONS of time. I understand your concerns with the ppts not being posted on websites; however, is it possible for you to create a file with just the word lists and the definitions that I can post on my webpage? The parents are constantly asking for me to post the definitions page.
Hi Amy. This is definitely something I might consider doing in the future, if time permits. However, in the meantime, you have my permission to type up the words and definitons to post in a simple PDF format for your parents.
Is there any way for you to make this resource editable (a Word document)? I have found several errors in unit 1 in both book 1 and 2, and I wanted to fix them. I love this resource! Thank you!
I made it in Adobe Illustraor. I did upload a revised version with corrections. Are you using that version? Please email me any errors and I can correct the ASAP.
...and are your power points going to be included or separate?
The PowerPoints will be a separate item in my store. Should be done in a couple of days! They will be on sale for the first 3 days.
Howdy,
I want to get this bundle, BUT are you planning on including your new affixes unit in it? Should I wait or is it possible to get the bundle price on that unit once it comes out if I go ahead and get the bundle now?
Hi there! I have not started working on the affix unit yet. I hope to get around to it in a couple of months. If I do make it, I won't be adding it to this bundle. I will likely make a new bundle.
Thanks for such a great resource. I was wondering if book 3 would be available before the school year begins? Well you bundle it with books 1 and 2?
Hi Adriana! The book will not be ready before the school year:-(. I am hoping to start it in a month or so and it will probably take about a month to complete. I've been side tracked by some other projects. I will probably make a bundle for it with the other two books, but I don't know for sure. So sorry!
Just checking to make sure I did not miss Book 3. Will it be available before school starts in August? Thanks!
That is my goal. It will be on affixes. I am currently making assessments for Books 1 and 2 and hope to get started on Book 3 after.
Update: 8-12-14 Book 3 won't be out for several months. Sorry for the delay.
