Description
Greek and Latin roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.

This is my FAVORITE resource I've purchased. I've used this for three years as my morning work. It is engaging and teaches a great world of how words work. Love it!
These are absolutely superb! I home school my daughter and she was getting a lot bored with the standard spelling workbooks - you know, the write the word 5 times kind with words that were just "ordinary". Well, look no further! This is so useful because it teaches roots, so when we start Latin in a couple of years she will have some familiarity with some words. She also loves dinosaurs, of which many have Latin and Greek root names. So, these fit beautifully with all of her studies and actually have some meaningful use. We also have the interactive notebook pages, but these are great for daily work. The analogies are a little tough for her - she's just finishing up 3rd grade, but they are not overwhelmingly so, and most of them she gets pretty quickly. The logic skills needed for the analogies are great to teach, and these make it very straight forward. I also have the freebie for different types of analogies, which is absolutely essential when teaching to a student on the younger end of the spectrum. Excellent. Love!
This is the perfect resource for Greek and Latin Roots. I saw a great improvement in my students over the course of the year. This really helps with meeting standards of context clues and Greek and Latin Roots.
Absolutely love this. I used it for my high 3rd graders.
I use a similar product. However, I need something that would help the range of 3rd-5th grade abilities to help supplement what I was already doing in the classroom, but with distance learning materials.

Hi, I was wondering how to implement these. We are currently having two roots a week, and the students look up the words. Do you have the students look up the words initially, or do you give them all of the words and definitions together? I am just wondering what best practice would be. I love the resource, and I want to do it right!
Hi Zach,
They shouldn't need to look up the words, as the definitions are provided on the first page of each unit. I recommend using the PowerPoints to intro the words, however.
Hello! Just wondering if this is available for digital distance learning? Thanks!

Hi there! I teach 7th grade and we have been using your Greek & Latin Roots Books 1 & 2 for 3 years now (starting our 4th year) and love them with great success! With everything going on and the need for digital learning - do you have the word lists in digital format? We did not want to post the word lists in Google Classroom for our students and take a chance of violating the copyright. Thank you for any help and insight you can provide.
Hi Victoria. You are allowed to use these resources with just your students on a private platform like Google Classroom. We did create Google Froms versions of these resources as well.

Will this be optimized for digital learning? I would love to keep using this digitally with my students as we keep social distancing and self isolating.

Is this digital (google slides)? Of course with covid & going to online learning everywhere, I am needing to get my digital resources together and make online lesson plans. I saw there had been a recent update, so that is why I am inquiring.
Thanks!
Edited: I looked at your links. They are totally separate from this resource. I can not afford to buy the same resource twice, just in different forms. Will you offer a lower price for the digital format to customers who have already purchased this bundle?

Question - do you have a digital version that students could complete if distance learning? I am looking to move this online for next year if possible.
