3rd Grade Language Assessments [DIGITAL]
Lynn Bailey

I purchased this resources to use with my students that are distance learning. I saw the standards that were included and purchased it with the assumption that I would be able to find the standard that I was teaching and give the assessment/quiz for that specific standard. While the material is good, I do NOT like the set up and it does NOT allow me to use it in the way that I want. It is set up weekly with NO table of contents. I did not intend to use it weekly. I thought that I would be able to use it for the standard that I was teaching. If you want to do a spiral review at the end of the year after you have taught every standard, then this would be a good resource. However, if you are wanting a product that will you will be able to use per standard, do not waste your time. Each link is just a link with no idea what you are downloading. I am going to keep looking for a product that I can use.

Greek and Latin Roots Sketch Notes Morphology [Book 2]

The file is in a PDF. I wanted to modify it by using each page as a background in slides and then placing text boxes over it where I wished students to write or place images. I got the free extension small PDF to convert the files into PNG files but the document is too large. I tried several other extensions but nothing would work without paying additional money. I reached out to the seller to give me the document in PNG, or to break it in 10 page segments so I could use it. She refused. Now I am stuck doing screenshots which come out blurry.

4th Grade Daily MATH Spiral Review Morning Work [Editable] Test Prep

This was WAY too difficult to start the year with. It would have been much better to spiral at the beginning with the standards from the grade level below, rather than starting with the end of year standards.

Teacher Thrive

<p>This resource is not designed around a particular scope and sequence since many teachers follow different timelines.</p><p>Since Daily Spiral Reviews cover all standards, students are exposed to concepts they may not have had formal instruction on. Unfamiliar content presents a great opportunity for you to build background knowledge and assess where your students are before you even teach a specific lesson.</p><p>The best way to use this spiral reveiw is to begin with whole-group lessons where you model and discuss each activity. I don't worry too much if there haven't been formal lessons on a particular concept; I treat those items more as a preview. After a few weeks, the students really start grasping the format, and you can begin to transfer the workload to them. Eventually, when the students work independently on the review, you will spend time correcting and discussing their work in class.  </p><p>As mentioned above, students will encounter concepts they are unfamiliar with. This is a GOOD thing, I promise!  We don't always have the answers or know the procedures to solve problems. It's beneficial to expose students to "unknowns"; they become less sensitive to the uncomfortable feeling of "not knowing" and are less likely to panic. </p><p>However, you can always use the editable version (open in PowerPoint) to remove/change any review items you like.</p>

I really like this-like others have said, I haven't found a way to have students record their name so that makes it somewhat unusable.

So all the cards in deck 1, set 1 would go in the fish pond face down? If I had aqua in my hand I would ask "Do you have water?" If the answer was no, I would draw a card? Then if a student had aqua in their hand and drew water, they would put them both down as a pair? Could it be used as concentration too?

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Amy! Yes, the game would be played just as you described, and yes, they could be used to play concentration.

Tonya H.

Are there directions in the final product for how to play with these cards besides that it’s a Go Fish game, or can you share how you use it? I did see the suggestion to print back sides in two different colors but am not sure how to accomplish that either.

Teacher Thrive

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, there are explicit instructions in the full resource.

Shannon L.

Are there blank cards to add your own roots/words to?

Teacher Thrive

Thanks for reaching out! There is not.

Melissa O

How should I set this file up to print? Is the black and white page the back to all the other cards? There just wasn't clarification in the direction. Thanks in advance!

Teacher Thrive

Hello! Yes, the black and white page are for the backside of each card.

Christina M.

How do you play the game? Is it a matching game?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! It's similar to "go fish." There are different size decks students can play with to increase/decrease difficulty.
