Not appropriate for beginning of the year
This is very hard for me to implement until almost the third quarter. Week one has decimals, and my fourth graders don't learn about decimals until the third quarter. It also jumps into division and bigger multiplication early. I wish it had a few weeks of third-grade review.
Affixes Resource Pack
This was not exactly what I was looking for for a supplemental resource for my 5th grade class.
Not a "spiral" review
I wanted to like this so much because it was exactly what I wanted. But, Week 1 already starts talking about coordinate grids and volume, standards that aren't covered until later on in the school year. I wish it was organized by the order the standards are taught throughout the school year instead of introducing end-of-year concepts in the first few weeks.
Great Activities, but Limited Direct Instruction
This resource is advertised as a week-long unit, but in practice it functions more like one day of direct instruction followed by several activity days. There is only one PowerPoint for teaching, with the remaining materials focused on practice.
I expected a more balanced structure with instruction and assessment spread across multiple days. For example, I was able to use the PowerPoint and the second day’s worksheet within a single class period, and the “scoot” activity worked well for a separate day. However, I’m unsure how I’ll incorporate the remaining sketch notes, which might have been more effective if directly integrated into the initial instruction.
One major area for improvement is alignment between instruction and assessment. The assessments and task cards include concepts like “to be” verbs and auxiliary verbs, but these are not introduced or modeled in the PowerPoint. This created confusion for my students and could easily be developed into an additional day of instruction.
Overall, the materials are well-designed and engaging, but the unit would benefit from more comprehensive instruction and clearer alignment between teaching and assessment.
This starts off Running
I thought the assessments would get progressively harder but I do not feel I could start these assessments with my students week 1. I may be able to start them mid year

Is it possible to buy a mega bundle of all these grades? Is the material and templates within each grade different ? Thanks
Hi June, unfortunately, I don’t have a bundle for these resources. However they are on sale for the next 36 hours so you can get them at 25% off.
Do you plan on making one for 8th grade anytime soon?
Never mind... I see where it said you would then later said it never happened and wouldn't be. Thank you. Great resource.
Hi Dana. Yes, I was never able to make one for 8th as my grade level focus changed.
Hello, Do you have a version of this for 8th grade? I have not been able to find it. Thanks!
Hi Autumn. Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, no, we do not have this for 8th Grade.
I see that someone already asked if you have intentions of making an 8th-grade version of this notebook. You stated Yes, but I do not see it in your shop. Do you still plan on creating this notebook for 8th-grade language?
Hi Rhonda! Unfortunately, this is not something we have been able to do. Our primary focus is on upper elementary grades. However, we will keep this in mind for future projects.
Do you have a parts of speech section for review that can tie in with this?

Hi there! First, I LOVE your resources... I have MANY and use them often! I do have a grammatical quandary, however. I am teaching phrases currently. I reviewed basic noun and verb phrases first, and now we are onto appositives using this INB. My predicament is this... I think that many of the appositive phrase examples in the INB are actually clauses since they contain relative pronouns such as that, which, and who along with a verb. Can you by chance provide me some clarification or some guidance with this? Thanks!!!
Hello! Thank you so much for reaching out. From my understanding, a clause must be a stand-alone sentence (subject and predicate). These phrases, while they may contain a relative pronoun, can not stand alone as a sentence. Please send any resources that contradict this to info@teacherthrive.com.
Would I be able to purchase a “mini bundle” of a few of these topics instead of the entire bundle? I’m basically just needed the comma pages of this. Thank you for any help!
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, the components of this resource are only available in the complete resource.
Hello I was wondering if you still planned on making an 8th grade one?
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, we are not sure if this will happen at this time.
I see the examples prior to each lesson, but they are rather small. Do you have a more clear version of what each page should be? I have to zoom into 400% to see and then it is blurry and not all information is included (such as correct answers).
Hello, Heidi. We only have the images included in the instruction pages so people can see how the activities are constructed. The questions are mostly opened, so they “correct” answers are not included.
I teach an Advanced/Gifted 6th grade ELA class. Would this be better suited for them or the 6th grade version? Thanks!
Hello. It really just depends on if they already know the concepts covered in the 6th grade version. If they do, then you could definitely have them use the 7th grade version.
