Description
Greek and Latin Roots! Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas.
This resource combines the instructional value of Greek and Latin roots with the active engagement of Interactive Notebooks. Included are 120 Interactive Notebook activities that will help your students understand the meaning of several words related to over 130 different roots! Each root activity covers 3-8 preselected words. However, blank templates are also included so that you can select your own words. In addition to the Interactive Notebook pages, you will also get word and definition lists for each root.

I loving having the visuals to help my students remember all the morphology things that we are learning about.
My students who love to color really get engaged and remember the meanings of the word parts. Those who do not love to color just go through them fast and don't retain much. Then I have those perfectionists who take their time and several class periods to finish one page. I have not figured out how to find that happy medium where they all put in the same effort and gain new knowledge while completing these.
Great resource. I'd love an option that required less cutting/glueing. The kids loved it.
Great resource! My students were very engaged while using the resource.
I have used this resource for a couple of years now in my remediation ELA classes. I have paired this with the vocabulary that we are already doing in ELA classes so that they can have a visual representation of the vocabulary. I have found that not all of the Greek and Latin roots I want to use are in this bundle, but there are a ton of them! You could certainly build an entire year's worth of units out of this. Cutting and gluing this notebook does take some time. Depending on the lesson, they will have to cut out multiple papers, glue them down, and then write their definitions. For visual learners, I think that this is a game changer.

Are you, by chance, taking suggestions for your future additions? I will definitely be purchasing this to use to supplement my current vocab program. However, there are only 10-15 that present that match up to my grade level. I will be purchasing regardless. Thanks for your consideration! :)

Hello! I am definitely open to adding more roots in the future. However, I really don't know when I will start adding more after I finish the addition I am currently working on. I have spent the last two months (every day, all day:-) adding over 80 new roots, and I am ready to switch gears for a bit and start some new projects for the fall:-). This looks great and exactly what I was looking for. However can you clarify if it needs to be printed out (302) pages or if it is simply viewable online with answers simply written by the student on paper.
Hello. The 302 page count included step-by-step assembly instructions (1 page for each root) as well as word lists and definitions (1 page for each root). You can print out the whole resource if you like. Hope that answers your question. Please let me know if you need further clarification.
Do you include any type of assessment with these - or do you assess you kids with this program?

Now, for my question. I was so excited to see you were having a sale on Pi Day. So, I waited to buy your products, but when I checked out, I didn't get the 20% off. Was there something I was supposed to do? I was going to get the second set of your Math Tasks, but was afraid to do so in case I was mistaken on the sale. I kind of wonder if it was because I live on the west coast and perhaps the time expired?
