Free Analogies for Grades 3-6

I love this idea, but some of the sentence frames don't seem to make sense - "something common is very small," "someone who is dangerous lacks love," "something large is very enormous" (should be the other way around?), "a foot sleeps/rests in a person," "hot is an antonym for warm". Or is it me? I haven't used this sort of thing before!

Hello! I think you may be misunderstanding the process of writing bridge sentences. If the bridge sentence doesn't make sense, such as the examples you provided, then that is how you know the word pair doesn't match the key words.

First, I truly appreciate the work that went into this product. However, I am extremely disappointed that I wasted the money on this item. If there was a way to get my money back and return it, I would. To me, this is an unusable product, because it covers the exact same content every week. I thought it would vary throughout the year to expose learners to different grammatical concepts.

I think these skills are really tough for my 6th graders, I asked a question of the author but didn't receive an answer.

<p>Hi Gretchen. I never received your question. Did you email me? I would love to help in any way I can. Melissa info@teacherthrive.com</p>

I, too, cannot get the 3rd page of the sketch notes (the blank page ) to print. It shows up blank on my computer, but when it prints, it prints with all the red answer samples printed. I ahve downloaded it several times, but it still won't print! That's the page I need to give to my students!
Thank you,
Mary Chriss

Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for this inconvenience. I just checked the file, and I do not see this issue. Our master file has that page completely blank. Can you please try deleting the old files, restarting your device, clearing the cache on your browser, and then try redownloading the file? If you are still having issues, please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact

I tried to print the 3rd page of the sketch notes for my students to use. It showed a blank page, but when I previewed the print, the notes were filled in. Sure enough, when it printed, it was a filled-in page. It happened with Adobe's online reader. It took downloading for me to get a blank page I could use!

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Deanna.
Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for this inconvenience. This is very strange. I just checked the file, and I do not see this issue. Our master file has that page completely blank. By downloading, do you mean completely downloading the file to your computer? We do recommend downloading the complete file to your computer before printing.

You give for examples (line, tip, ring, draw). Do you give other words for kids to define and illustrate? If so, how many words do you offer?

Teacher Thrive

Hello. Yes, a list of about 20 frequently confused words is included.

Ashley R.

Can you check the multiple meaning words notes pages. There is a page missing for the students to fill in.

Sorry, I downloaded the resource again and it was correct. Thanks!

Teacher Thrive

I was just about to reply. Thanks for letting me know all is well with the file.
