“Engaging and Effective Grammar Notebook for 7th Grade”

This 7th Grade Language Interactive Grammar Notebook is such a valuable resource! The interactive format keeps students engaged while giving them plenty of hands-on practice with grammar concepts. Each section is clear, organized, and easy to follow, making it perfect for middle school learners.

I love how it balances notes, practice, and interactive foldables—students aren’t just memorizing; they’re actually applying grammar in meaningful ways. It also works great as a reference tool throughout the year since students can go back to their notebooks whenever they need a refresher.

Prep is simple, and everything is laid out in a teacher-friendly way. My students enjoyed the activities, and I saw real improvement in their understanding and retention of grammar skills.

Highly recommend for any 7th grade ELA classroom—this notebook saves time, builds independence, and makes grammar less intimidating!

I saw back in 2016 you mentioned that you had plans to make one for 8th grade. Is this still happening? I teach 6th-8th and would love to continue the notebooks with them through the years as a grammar handbook.

Teacher Thrive

Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, we are not sure if this will happen at this time, but we will absolutely keep this in mind for future projects.

I would like to know if there are specific lesson plans to correspond with the notebook pages or are these activities that I would need to build content for or around? Also, are there any additional worksheets, practice/review materials, or quiz/assessment options included? It looks really amazing and I wanted to be certain it is fully laid out and sequenced curriculum, ready to implement before I purchase. Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Kara! This is a full year of notetaking exercises for grammar. The Interactive Notebook is designed to be used in conjunction with the 7th Grade Daily Language Spiral Review. The spiral review and the INB both cover the same standards. However, the INB presents each topic separately, while the spiral review presents multiple topics a day. Here is the link to the spiral review: https://teacherthrive.com/product/7th-grade-daily-language-spiral-review/

On page 94, there is a missing word in the sentence: Do you how to sing the National Anthem? It should state, Do you (know) how to sing the National Anthem?

I printed out page 94, but after passing them out to students I quickly noticed that the sentences in the top right corner of the larger charts are not the same. Both sentences are about the National Anthem, but they are not the same. Since the other sentences are the same/consistent, can you please edit one of these National Anthem sentences so it matches the other? This was confusing when doing notes with my students since half of them had a different sentence that also had a missing word.

I would appreciate the fix. Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Heather! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have corrected the error.

When will this workbook be shipped? Thank you

Teacher Thrive

Hi Keri, This is not a physical resource. It is a digital download that you have access to immediately after purchase.

How do you use this with the daily Spiral review and language assessments. I have 90 minutes 4x a week for ELA. I was hoping to use the Daily Spiral Review as my Language curriculum and teach mini lessons as needed. Then I saw the IN Grammar bundle and am wondering if they go together.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Yvette! The spiral review and the INB both cover the same standards. However, the INB presents each topic separately, while the spiral review presents multiple topics a day. They are designed to be used together.

Rebecca B.

I love this resource, but I'd like to make some edits to activities (move around some of the sentences to be under the flap instead of on top of it)... do you an editable document I could use?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! Unfortunately, I created this resource in Adobe Illustrator, so I am unable to provide an editable version.

j g

HI, would you be able to do a smaller bundle? Do these come with lessons or just the notebook page? Do you include how a finished copy should look with answers included?
I was wondering about the "phrases and clauses" parts of the notebook, as that is a standard I'm struggling on this year.

Teacher Thrive

Hello. Sorry, this is not available in a smaller bundle. Each topics comes with an INB activity. Each INB activity includes detailed pictures on how to complete and assemble. Sample answers are provided for more technical topics.
