Description
Almost 70% of the English language is derived from Latin and Greek languages. When students learn these “building blocks” it becomes easy for them to recognize and decode unfamiliar words that are related to a known root. It is also increasingly important to explicitly teach students the meanings of Greek and Latin roots as they encounter the very technical vocabulary found in science and other content areas. This is the digital version of the paper-based Get to the Root of It: Book 1.

I love using this.
I have been using the paper version of this for a while so this is great to have for distance learning.
When our new vocab textbooks hadn't come in yet I decided to try something new. This has been a fabulous choice! I love how easy it is to use!
This was a perfect resource for 6th grade! I wanted to find an alternative to spelling words and this was perfect! My students are learning roots and are better able to break down unknown words.
This is helpful for distance learning, but sometimes a bit confusing. I would have rather preferred more multiple choice or write in the correct answer than to scroll down and choose a letter. Thank you for taking the time to create.

Not to worry. Please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact
There is no explicit teaching that goes along with this? We just assign them to students to complete? How long does each lesson take?
These are not lessons. They are the digital version of the printable version. There are separate PowerPoints that go along with the units.
Hi, I just purchased this and read through the contents but can't find the actual lesson plan explaining how to implement this in the classroom.
Hello. These are Google Forms. There is a video tutorial that explains how to use them with your students.
Where do I find the answer key?

I just purchased this to use with the Greek and Latin sketch notes. I thought I was getting a printable resource. I am having difficulty locating the worksheets etc. in the digital version. It seems I only have access to you google form assessments . This isn't what I want at all. Can I get your printable version. Help.
Hello. Unfortunately, the printable version is a separate purchase. However, if you haven’t downloaded the digital version, TpT will refund you. Please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact

Where does one find the bonus materials listed?
Hello! They are in the excel spreadsheet that is part of the download.
Does this purchase come with an answer key?
Hi Melissa! Yes, these Google Forms are self-grading and contain the correct answers within the forms. To see the correct answers for each problem, click on "Answer Key" on the bottom left-hand side of the problem.
I have the print version. Is the digital version an upgrade to the original purchase or a separate purchase?
Thanks for reaching out. These are separate resources as the digital versions take 100s of hours to create. Many digital resources out there are simply an image of a worksheet/printable embedded into a Google Slide with blank text boxes pasted on top of them. Creating digital resources in this manner is a simple process that only takes a few hours, and you are more than welcome to adapt the printable version as described for your personal use. Our digital versions are all created in Google Forms, so teachers can save time using the self-grading feature, which is not available in Google Slides. As mentioned above, creating Google Forms is very labor and time-intensive, so we decided to list these separately. You are more than welcome to use the printable versions you own to create your own Google Forms to use with your students only.
