A great resource to use when planning my trifold for Lit Circles. The questions enhanced learning and assisted in deeper thinking.
Overall, this resource had a great set of DC questions that kept students critically thinking throughout our unit.
Great!
Great resource! Great for teaching deep thinking.
Hmmm, this resource has potential, but is confusing as is. What in the world do all of the dfferent icons represent? Also, a sample answer key is missing. Yes, there are multiple answers to the questions, but I have seen other resources offer them anyways. The worksheets also lack definitions or an area to write definitions for key terms used such as irony and paradox. I like the questions, but will have to spend a lot of time making it fit my needs. Seriously, one of the first things that kids are going to ask are what the icons represent. I can't figure it out nor could my husband who is a lawyer!
I am so sorry you are disappointed. This resource is based on The Depth and Complexity Framework. You can find more information about these icons online.

Is this resource editable?
Hi Sarah! No this is not editable. Thank you for asking.
How much of a challenge would these be for 5th graders?
Good morning! I know some teachers use this 5th grade, while others use it with 7th or 8th. Are you already teaching this novel with 5th? If you are already teaching this novel, then this resource should be fine for your 5th graders.
I've never taught this novel before. I know there isn't an answer key, but is there any way to have some guidelines of what we should be looking for.
Hi There! There are no answer keys, since the questions are designed to be answered and supported in multiple ways. I think you will find that you and your students will have different responses that can all be considered "correct."
