Description
This close reading and fluency resource is designed to be used with students in grades 4-8 and provides many options for differentiation. This resource includes 2 different nonfiction passages (Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo). Each passage is written at 3 different reading levels (approximate grades 4-5, 6-7, and 7-8).
There are also 3 different reading response sheets with text-dependent questions for each passage. Each of the 3 reading response sheets is based on a specific Common Core Reading Domain: Key Ideas and Details, Craft and Structure, and Integrating Knowledge and Ideas. These reading response sheets are also differentiated! I have created two levels (A and B): Level A is based on the Common Core Standards for grades 4-5, and Level B is based on the Common Core Standards for grades 6-8.
In addition to the leveled passages and Reading Response Sheets, this resource also includes a fluency component. Each of the leveled close reading passages have been formatted into fluency passages that can be used with your students who struggle with reading expression and word recognition. These passages afford your students the valuable practice of repeated readings and progress monitoring.

When I imagine "sketch notes" I envision something with more graphics to it. These notes feel like organized chaos and are not very user friendly for my learning disabled students.
THERE ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY MISTAKES.
<p>Hi Terry, I recieved your question about the Correlative Conjunctions unit. I have corrected the duplicate number 9 on the assessment. </p><p>However, number 11 doesn't have an erroe: "Neither my mom nor my sisters are going camping this weekend." is grammatically correct. </p><p>I am not sure what other errors you are referring to. After 5 years of publishing this resource, I have never heard from teachers about "SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MANY MISTAKES."</p>
I have loved all the grammar resources. This was the first resource where the PPT was acting all goofy. The underlining did not match the correct phrase.
Attractively formatted, but some of the language was pretty objectionable (dorky? annoying?) as were the messages in some of the fictional stories, and it is hard to copy and paste revisions over it so that I can use these things without fear of getting in trouble from the administration.
A good resource but terrible wording, I thought this was in pdf form but it’s only google slides, I asked if I could get the pdf and she said no
