A great resource for Intervention!
I like the set-up, but I have to go in and change several things b/c the exercises don't require the students to do what is required of the actual Common Core standard. Ex, students do know figurative language. The Daily Language wants the students to find the origin, meaning & write a sentence. The origin is not part of the standard. I feel it's better for the students to determine the meaning using context clues (instead of just looking it up), then write their own sentence. Instead, I give them a sentence using the idiom. Then they must determine, the meaning using the context clues I've provided in the sentence. Then they must write their own sentence using the idiom. I do the same thing for the proverb/adage on the Wednesday section.
The prefix section- I change it around & have the students to identify the prefix. Determine the meaning of the prefix, then then the meaning of the word. I do understand that when creating this product, it's created to serve teachers all over that may have different standard that they must follow. I'd like to send examples of how I tweak the Daily Language.
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. While the origin is not part of the standard, students find this information very interesting and knowing the origin does help students retain the meaning. I will also add that the act of finding the origin is a common core standard: "Consult reference materials (e.g., dictionaries, glossaries, thesauruses), both print and digital, to find the pronunciation and determine or clarify the precise meaning of key words and phrases." I am happy to hear that you have been able to adapt this resource to meet your teaching needs, though.
Kind of high expectations before reading -- concepts are challenging for many younger students with nothing concrete from which to build references. With the right group, it would be great.
great resource
Very clear. My only suggestion would be more text structures and lines in the boxes.

I presume that the weekly quizzes coordinate with the skills from the M - F weekly practice? Also, when were these written? Thank you...
Hello, Tina. Yes, these coordinate perfectly with the weekly reviews. These were last updated in 2020.
Hello, I am confused about the weekly assessments. According to the "What's Included" it states 36 Weekly Grammar Assessments. However, when I try to access them, it states that I have to purchase them separately. So...are they included or do I have to purchase them separately?
Nikki M.
These are the weekly quizzes that can be used with the daily review (sold separately here). I checked the file and I see the correct assessments are included.
wat does provision mean
is there a quiz attach to it
I accidentally bought the paper version of your grammar quiz. I actually wanted the online version. Is there a way to fix this?
Due to the digital nature of these resources, we don't offer returns or exchanges. However, if you have yet to download a resource, you can contact TpT to see if they can make an exception. They will usually issue a refund if they see that the file has not yet been downloaded. Please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact
Do you have a distance learning version of the quizzes? We use the 5 a day daily, but it would be nice to have an online version of the quizzes.
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the digital version can be found here: https://teacherthrive.com/product/6th-grade-weekly-language-assessments-digital/
Do you have this in a Google form format? I purchased this awhile ago, but want to use it with remote learning. Thanks!

Hi There,
Just checking in on whether you have developed Google Forms assessments. I would love to use these resources, but I can't possible select something without self-scoring assessments because I teach 130+ students. I imagine that many 6th grade teachers would report the same. Appreciate your time!
Edited to add: You are amazing! I know that you had originally thought that a Forms option wouldn't work well, but you pushed forward and found a way. :) Thank you! As an aside, I notice that many of your Q and A's are outdated as you are constantly creating. I wonder if you could go in and delete some of those inaccurate Q and A's now that the situation has changed. Thanks for everything!
Hello. Yes, I do have google form versions here: https://teacherthrive.com/product/6th-grade-weekly-language-assessments-digital/
Do you have a Google Drive version of this assessment so I can use in my Google Classroom? I would like to have the assessment automatically graded because it is too time-consuming with the 140 6th graders, a google doc would be more helpful.
Hello! At this time, I do not have a google forms version.
is there an answer key
Yes, the answer keys are included in the PDF.
