Thank you for sharing!

Exactly what I was looking for!

Anna H.

Its repetitive nature means that students can quickly get into the swing of using these skills.

Angela B.

These daily reviews align beautifully with 6th grade common core curriculum. I used them for about half the year and my students were able to get a relatively firm grasp of all the concepts. We found some of the root word exercises to be a bit random, frustrating, inapplicable to 6th grade. Students also eventually became bored with the repetitive weekly work and were able to identify patterns that led to shortcuts in work completion and therefore less absorption. This is when we switched to other grammar exercises for the rest of the year.
Would I use this again. Definitely. It has its merits. I would probably provide more focused teaching on each concept, skip or replace some root words exercises and spread out the weekly worksheets to every other or every third week throughout the year. I also found the companion weekly assessments program very helpful for summative assessment and will use that again too.

Does this have a pre and post test included?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! No, it only has review pages for M-Th, lasting 36 weeks.

BETSY B.

Would you please make student-geared resource notes for this product so that my students could reference them in their notebooks as they work on the activities? The included teaching notes are geared for the teacher, so I don't want to just copy those and hand them out. If you're not willing to do this, would you send me an editable copy of the teaching notes please, and I will do it? I used this product all last year with my students, and it was a wonderful resource. My students learned so much. Thank you.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Betsy! This is a great idea and I am happy to do it. However, I won't be able to get to this until late spring. I made these pages in Adobe InDesign, not Word, so I can't provide an editable version.

Does this coincide with your 6th grade language inb? I'm worried that this review covers a lot of topics and I will spend a long time teaching them as we correct, rather than reviewing. I'm wondering if you have something that gives the instruction, like the inb, before they will need it for the review. Hope that makes sense.

Teacher Thrive

Both resources are based on the Common Core standards for Grade 6.

shanin N.

I have the sixth grade version and I love it however, I found a typo in the standards for Tuesday #4 (vague pronouns)
It states that the standard for this question is L.6.4B, when it should be L.6.1D.

Teacher Thrive

Thanks, Shanin. I will double check this an make any necessary corrections.

Erin A.

There seem to be several mistakes needing to be corrected. Week 9 uses the word "cause" in the sentence which needs to be "because." Week 10 makes "field trip" one word, and it is not. Your analogy in week 10 is reversed in the answer, and that causes the children to be confused about the correct answer. Week 10 also has the word "is" in the sentence about Alex, yet the word should be "it". There is no way for me to correct these problems on my end. If you correct these issues, please supply an updated version. Thank you.

Teacher Thrive

Hello! I will check these out and have any necessary corrections complete by 8:00 am PST. I would love for your to email me so that I could offer you something as a thank you for your time communicating these errors to me. GotToTeach@icloud.com

UPDATE: All errors were corrected. The analogy is correct, however. It falls under the "lack" type of analogy outlined in the teaching notes. "A HYSTERICAL person LACKS SERENITY: A CALM person LACKS ANXIETY." They are not synonyms as the first word is an adjective and the second word is a noun.

Stephanie A.

I have been using this for a few years now starting with the original and I love it! Do you have quizzes connected to them to use on Fridays? If not, have you thought about it?

Teacher Thrive

Hello. I do not have quizzes. I find that the best way to assess is to simply give the students the exact same pages from M-Th on Friday as a quiz.

Jineena W.

I just purchased your 5th grade instead of 6th grade Daily Language. This is the product that I meant to purchase. Could you switch them out for me? I'm sorry, I'm an overwhelmed 1st year teacher and didn't pay attention very well. :(

Teacher Thrive

Hi Jineena! I am so sorry about that! Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds or exchanges; sellers don't have this ability. But if you contact TpT customer support, I am sure they will be able to help you out.

Michelle M.

Hi...I just purchased this and was wondering if there was any way to get it as png files. I was hoping to assign it to my students electronically.

Teacher Thrive

Hi There! Could you email me at gottoteach@icloud.com

Erika Yee

I am using the 6th grade version prior to your July update. Is there any way to get an editable copy (MS Word / Google Doc)? There are some errors that we found as we were going through it. Thank you.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Erica. I am afraid I don't have an editable version. I made it in illustrator. The updated version should be error free.

Stephanie P.

Hi! This looks great! Are there resource notes for the students so they could glue them on their notebooks to reference as they work on the activities?

Teacher Thrive

Thanks! There are teaching notes included. You can see them in the preview.
