Daily Math Spiral Review
I use this as an opening activity (bellringer). It has a good mixture of skills (e.g. division, multiple digit multiplication, graphing, decimals, expressions, etc). However, there are a LOT of computation errors in the answer key!
Would recommend for 6th grade
I purchased this as 5th grade homework/morning work, however even the first few weeks cover things like exponents, multiplying and dividing decimals, etc. that we will not get to until later in the year. I think it would work well for 6th grade as it reviews 5th material.
<p>Hello, Andrea! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. </p><p>This resource is not designed around a particular scope and sequence since many teachers follow different timelines.</p><p>Since Daily Spiral Reviews cover all standards, students are exposed to concepts they may not have had formal instruction on. Unfamiliar content presents a great opportunity for you to build background knowledge and assess where your students are before you even teach a specific lesson.</p><p>The best way to use this spiral review is to begin with whole-group lessons where you model and discuss each activity. I don't worry too much if there haven't been formal lessons on a particular concept; I treat those items more as a preview. After a few weeks, the students really start grasping the format, and you can begin to transfer the workload to them. Eventually, when the students work independently on the review, you will spend time correcting and discussing their work in class. </p><p>As mentioned above, students will encounter concepts they are unfamiliar with. This is a GOOD thing, I promise! We don't always have the answers or know the procedures to solve problems. It's healthy to expose students to "unknowns"; they become less sensitive to the uncomfortable feeling of "not knowing" and are less likely to panic.</p><p>However, you can always use the editable version (open in PowerPoint) to remove/change any review items you like. Thanks for reaching out! </p>
This resource was exactly what I needed! It was well-organized, easy to prep, and engaging for my students. The directions were clear, the visuals were helpful, and the activity supported the standards I was targeting. My students really enjoyed it and were able to complete it with confidence. Thank you for creating such a thoughtful and effective resource—I'll definitely be using it again!
I love this resource; however, read the FINE print. This is only a 4-day per week resource. The quizzes have to be purchased separately. This was hidden in the description that I should have "closely" read, but I have found it to be a great resource.
Some of the concepts in the first quarter math are very difficult and haven't been covered yet so I wasn't able to use a lot of the pages because my kids couldn't do them independently yet.
Loved the organization and types of problems. Just needs to align more with where kids are at in the year.

Hi there. Did you have a question?
The preview page says Week 1, so does that mean it starts with modeling fractions and decimals? I'm asking because we usually start with Numerical Expressions. How easy is it to go out of order? Thanks! This looks like a great product.
Hello! Yes this resource doesn't follow a specific scope and sequence. It starts out with what might be "new" content for your students, but in a simplified, scaffolded manner. The concepts will gradually increase in complexity as the weeks go on. The format allows you to preview and review concepts throughout the year, but it also serves as a great daily informal assessment so you will REALLY know where your kids are at across the standards. I recommend starting off the first few weeks modeling and discussion; but soon your students will take off with it and it can easily be an independent activity that is later corrected/discussed in class. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I just recently purchased the 5-A-Day Math Review for my class. I was wanting to print a class set of just the problems, not the whole document. I am sending it to print shop and it will not let me just send specific pages. Could you possibly help with this?
Hi There! Please email me with your username and date of purchase and I will be able to help you out. GotToTeach@icloud.com

I was just looking at your preview (I have a number of your products and I'm planning purchasing this as well) and there are a couple of mistakes on one part of the overview. Take a look at the last steps for adding and subtracting fractions using the area model. It should be subtraction not addition and the equivalent fractions are flipped.
Hi Alison! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! The error has been corrected.
I already have the 5-a-day language.
Is there any chance you would bundle the 4th and 5th math 5-a-day?
Hi Shannon! I'm sorry, but I don't have plans to bundle these two items.
