Not appropriate for beginning of the year
This is very hard for me to implement until almost the third quarter. Week one has decimals, and my fourth graders don't learn about decimals until the third quarter. It also jumps into division and bigger multiplication early. I wish it had a few weeks of third-grade review.
Affixes Resource Pack
This was not exactly what I was looking for for a supplemental resource for my 5th grade class.
Not a "spiral" review
I wanted to like this so much because it was exactly what I wanted. But, Week 1 already starts talking about coordinate grids and volume, standards that aren't covered until later on in the school year. I wish it was organized by the order the standards are taught throughout the school year instead of introducing end-of-year concepts in the first few weeks.
Great Activities, but Limited Direct Instruction
This resource is advertised as a week-long unit, but in practice it functions more like one day of direct instruction followed by several activity days. There is only one PowerPoint for teaching, with the remaining materials focused on practice.
I expected a more balanced structure with instruction and assessment spread across multiple days. For example, I was able to use the PowerPoint and the second day’s worksheet within a single class period, and the “scoot” activity worked well for a separate day. However, I’m unsure how I’ll incorporate the remaining sketch notes, which might have been more effective if directly integrated into the initial instruction.
One major area for improvement is alignment between instruction and assessment. The assessments and task cards include concepts like “to be” verbs and auxiliary verbs, but these are not introduced or modeled in the PowerPoint. This created confusion for my students and could easily be developed into an additional day of instruction.
Overall, the materials are well-designed and engaging, but the unit would benefit from more comprehensive instruction and clearer alignment between teaching and assessment.
This starts off Running
I thought the assessments would get progressively harder but I do not feel I could start these assessments with my students week 1. I may be able to start them mid year

Hi! I have the Problem & Solution reading about plastics and noticed a spelling error- instead of "Using Less Plastic" the directions say "Using Less Practice". Is there an update for this fix? Thank you!!
Hello, Marisa! Thank you so much for letting me know. I appologize for the inconvenience! This error has been corrected.
Hello. This bundle has key answers?
Yes, it does!
Is it possible to purchase only the graphic organizers for the non-fiction text structures? Thanks!
Hello. The graphic organizers are not sold separately. Each one is created for the specific passages in the bundle.
How different is the 4th-grade version from the 5th-grade? I teach 5th and have purchased that version but am thinking about differentiation for some of my students who need more support. Was wondering if the 4th-grade bundle was significantly different to purchase as an alternative for those students? Thank uou!
Hi Victoria. Thanks for reaching out! The 4th and 5th-grade versions are formatted the same, but the content is entirely different. The 4th-grade version is based on 4th-grade standards, with the passages being leveled between 740-870, and the 5th-grade version is based on 5th-grade standards, with the passages being leveled between 880-1010 Lexile.
Hi, I really like your work. Might you have a 5th grade reading strategies bundle? I see the 4th grade, but I also need a 5th. Thanks!
Hi Kathleen! The 5th Grade version is not ready just yet. It will be a few more weeks. We will offer it at 20% off for the first few days when we release it!
Curious if the 5th grade resource is out yet?
Hi Monica! It's not ready just yet. It will be a few more weeks. We will offer it at 20% off for the first few days when we release it!
I just bought this bundle and have found several mistakes. It won't allow me to leave a review yet, but here are the problems so far (I have been looking at the digital versions):
1. The Key Words slide for Hurricanes v. Asteroids is blank
2. All the Compare & Contrast Key Words Slides say "Cause & Effect" words.
3. The Using Less Plastic Graphic Organizer say "Using Less Practice.
Please let me know when these issues are fixed so I can download them again.
Hi Tanya! Thank you so much for kindly pointing this out. What a major inconvenience for you. These errors will be corrected by the end of the day today. I’ll update this comment when I’ve uploaded the new file. Thank you for your patience.
UPDATE: The corrected files have been uploaded. My apologies for this!
