Mostly Helpful!

This is a good resource for higher thinking students but could use differentiated options.

Heidi Payne

Diffcult for some the students. Others were able to be actively engaged.

Resource didn't align with our curriculum so it was hard to add...I think it is a good resource wish it aligned with Wonders.

Teacher Thrive

This resource is not designed around a particular scope and sequence since many teachers follow different timelines.

Since Daily Spiral Reviews cover all standards, students are exposed to concepts they may not have had formal instruction on. Unfamiliar content presents a great opportunity for you to build background knowledge and assess where your students are before you even teach a specific lesson.

The best way to use this spiral reveiw is to begin with whole-group lessons where you model and discuss each activity. I don't worry too much if there haven't been formal lessons on a particular concept; I treat those items more as a preview. After a few weeks, the students really start grasping the format, and you can begin to transfer the workload to them. Eventually, when the students work independently on the review, you will spend time correcting and discussing their work in class.

As mentioned above, students will encounter concepts they are unfamiliar with. This is a GOOD thing, I promise! We don't always have the answers or know the procedures to solve problems. It's beneficial to expose students to "unknowns"; they become less sensitive to the uncomfortable feeling of "not knowing" and are less likely to panic.

However, you can always use the editable version (open in PowerPoint) to remove/change any review items you like.

I am interested in this. What does Friday look like? Is it a full sheet of paper? Does it review what was on Monday - Thursday? The preview does not include Friday.

Teacher Thrive

Hi there! There is no Friday. Some teachers give the students M-Th as an assessment on Friday.

Melani C.

Thank you for making such a wonderful product! I am very excited to use this next year.
I purchased this product today, and Monday and Tuesday of Week 2 is missing. There are also duplicate copies of Week 1 Wednesday and Thursday. Could this please be fixed?

Teacher Thrive

Okay, just downloaded it on my phone. Now I see the problem! Akkkk! So sorry. I must have replaced the wrong page when making a revision. All fixed now! Thank you for letting me know and for your patience.

Nifties by Nikki

Can you give me some insight into how you set each week up in terms of which standards are addressed when? Meaning... on Mondays, do you address the same standards each Monday? Each Tuesday? etc...?

Teacher Thrive

The exercises you see in the sample week remain the same thoughout the year. So the format of each question might change slightly but the standards are the same for each day of the week. For example, every Monday, item 1 will be on roots... Etc. does that make sense? Let me know if I can better explain it for you:-)

Carolyn M.

Do you have one available for 3rd grade?

Teacher Thrive

Hi There! No I am sorry, I don't:-(

Ann J.

Hi! On week 13, there is a mistake on Wednesday #2. Do you mind correcting it?

Teacher Thrive

Not at all. I'm not clear on what the mistake is? Can you elaborate?

Ann J.

On 4th Grade, Week 2, Wednesday #5, there is a mistake. It says, "I am sure _________________ are coming to my birthday party. (their, there, they're). None of these choices work due to the word "are" in the sentence. Do you mind correcting this for me?
Thanks! :)
Ann

Teacher Thrive

Yes! Will fix right now and repost! Will be up in about 10 minutes.

Thank you for letting me know!

Gail P.

Thanks,
Gail

Teacher Thrive
