🎯 Why Teachers Love This Resource

✔ Visual pathways for complex concepts: Students aren’t just memorizing — they are sketching definitions, examples, and models that make algebraic thinking and number sense more accessible.
✔ Perfect for Guided Notes or Interactive Notebooks: Use pages whole‑class, in small groups, or for independent work.
✔ Supports students who think visually or need processing time. A great fit for diverse learners.
✔ Flexible and re‑usable: Print pages for class sets, put in binders, or assign as homework.
✔ Can be paired with any 3rd grade curriculum: Not tied to a particular program, so you can integrate with what your district or school uses.

Teachers comment that their students refer back to these pages all year, and that the visual note‑taking helps students truly make sense of math rather than just memorize procedures.

🧠 How Students Use These Pages

📌 Build Sketch Notebooks: Students can compile the pages into math notebooks to serve as a year‑long reference.
📌 Complete During Instruction: Use during guided instruction so students record key ideas while learning with you.
📌 Review & Test Prep: Assign pages as review before quizzes or for spiral practice.
📌 Supports Reflective Thinking: Pages encourage students to reflect — not just fill in blanks.

Because sketch notes integrate writing, drawing, and reasoning, many students find them less intimidating and more interactive than traditional notes or worksheets.

🧑‍🏫 Teacher Benefits You’ll Appreciate

💡 Save planning time: Ready‑to‑use notes eliminate the need to create visuals from scratch.
💡 No extra prep needed: Just print and go!
💡 Great for differentiation: Students who need more practice or visual supports get them built in.
💡 Works in any setting: Classroom, tutoring, remote learning, or math intervention blocks.
💡 Supports long‑term retention: Students use multiple modes (visual, verbal, kinesthetic) to learn.

I wish I found this sooner

I love these interactive sketch notes that keep my students engaged instead of simply creating anchor charts in front of them, though while they watch and possibly zone out. It has made a huge difference in teaching my students keywords and has given them great resources to refer back to when when needed.

Jassy Schovajsa

Awesome for introducing lessons or reteaching.

I love this. It makes our lessons more fun than just doing worksheets. Students can refer back to it after the lesson to help them.

Thank you for another wonderful resource for 3rd grade math!

Interactive

So glad I tried this resource. It's working well to support an interactive math notebook for my class. Since I am in Canada, I am using the grade 3 and grade 4 to meet our slightly different expectations.

Jordan C.

AMAZING!

This is an amazing resource! I love all the options, and my students love that they can draw on their notes.

I’m thrilled with this growing bundle! I’m wondering if I could persuade you to work on the Tell and Write Time section? I’d like to start the year with telling time, during the first ten days of school. We start back August 14th. If this doesn’t fit your schedule, I totally understand. Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Dawna! Thank you for reaching out. I plan to follow the tentative order listed in the description. Because teachers follow a variety of scopes and sequences, some topics might not be ready for everyone. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Kristin K.

I love this idea! Am I correct in understanding that these are printed in black and white, and then the children add their own coloring?

Teacher Thrive

Yes, you are right! Students are given a blank page and you can use the included PowerPoint to guide them through the notetaking process. Coloring is optional but most students like that part.

Shelley C.

I was looking at the Numbers in Word Form set (3.04) and it appears that both PowerPoints part A and part B are the same file. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong with these files.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Shelley! I'm sorry for this error. I have added the correct files to the resource. Thank you so much for letting me know.

Shawna D.

The addition without regrouping will not open. Everything else I clicked on opens. Is anyone else having thins problem?

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Shawna! There seems to be a technical issue on the TpT site. I have contacted them to let them know, and they should have it corrected soon.

Nicolle R.

These look great! Do you expect to have all of the topics finished before August?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! No, they will take at least 9 months to complete.
