Depth and Complexity Novel Study for My Brother Sam is Dead
Lit Happens

Hmmm, this resource has potential, but is confusing as is. What in the world do all of the dfferent icons represent? Also, a sample answer key is missing. Yes, there are multiple answers to the questions, but I have seen other resources offer them anyways. The worksheets also lack definitions or an area to write definitions for key terms used such as irony and paradox. I like the questions, but will have to spend a lot of time making it fit my needs. Seriously, one of the first things that kids are going to ask are what the icons represent. I can't figure it out nor could my husband who is a lawyer!

Teacher Thrive

I am so sorry you are disappointed. This resource is based on The Depth and Complexity Framework. You can find more information about these icons online.

Not to thrilled about the quality of copies. Looks like they are scanned copies.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Nicole. Are you using the latest version of Adobe Reader to open this file? They should NOT look like scanned copies; I made these in Adobe Illustrator and when I open and print them they are very crisp. Please contact customer support if you are continuing to have problems with the file.

Do you plan to have 6th & up versions of this unit? It is on my wish List! :0)

Teacher Thrive

I will be making 6th grade grammar units. However, I won’t have a 6th grade unit specifically on nouns. These units are written based on grade-level standards, but they can be used with other grades.

Danielle D.

So excited for this growing bundle!! Would you consider also making the task cards digital?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Danielle! I could add a google slides version of the task cards. Would this be helpful?

Teacher Thrive

Yes! I will be creating a growing bundle once I post 4 more sets.
