Description
Comparing decimals and decimal place value can be challenging concepts to teach, so using decimal models is a must!
Ordering Decimals Math Tiles is a hands-on math center that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while building a true understanding of decimal place value. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards to correctly number four decimal numbers according to the models provided. Students will then list the four numbers in order of greatest to least or least to greatest.
This resource includes:
- 30 different Time to Tile PRINTABLE cards
- An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.
- Answer keys
- Management and organization tips for successfully implementing Time to Tile in your classroom.
This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).

This resource is absolutely incredible!! I love the idea of the fairytales-like you said in your rationale: it's so much easier to apply these icons to texts they are already familiar with. It brings success to them quicker, and inspires them take on the challenge of applying them to new material we'll encounter through the year. Older students still have that "little kid" inside of them, and I believe my middle schoolers will love revisiting these tales. I cannot wait to begin next school year with this resource! Keep the products coming!!
Thank you for one of the best "feedbacks" EVER. I really do appreciate the time and care you took to leave your response. And, yes, TOTALLY appropriate for middle school and beyond; there are actually some pretty "deep" elements to fairytales that older students can really dive into.
Just what I was looking for! Thank you!
Great book! Thank you for the feedback.
This is a really great resource that is very flexible. I look forward to incorporating them in the fall.
Thank you for the feedback.
Great resource! Planning on using it for group discussions.
That's a great application. Thank you for the feedback.
Probably too complex for my students, but they look great for older elementary.
Oh that's too bad! I'm sorry to hear this. I wouldn't recommend these to grades lower than 4. Please feel free to email me for possible ways to adapt these for your kiddos.

Hello-
I purchased your Time to Tile resource on Ordering Decimals. Did I misunderstand? I thought the resource includes the printable and digital versions. I'm having trouble finding the digital version link. I've purchased many of these on your website and didn't have a problem finding the link. Thanks for your response.
Hello! My apologies. The file didn't include the the digital version, but I just corrected that. Please re-download the file. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
