Description
Time to Tile: Place Value Riddles is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while developing a deep, conceptual understanding of whole-number place value. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards in order to correctly solve 60 different riddles. Each riddle provides students with 5 clues
This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).
This resource includes:
- 30 different Time to Tile cards (60 different riddles)
- An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.
- Answer keys
- Management and organization tips for successfully implementing Time to Tile in your classroom.

Excellent and one of my favorite resources. I own many of these "tile" sets and absolutely love them.
Great resource but most of these riddles are on the harder side for grade 4/5. I would recommend for middle school students.
These activities are a huge hit with my students. I love them!
Such great resources. These really help students to think in a new, flexible way about mathematics. It's also nice to have some hands on math and not just pencil and paper.

I was looking more specifically for the place value riddles with decimals. Any of those or any in the future?
