Description
Time to Tile: Multiply 2 by 2 is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while developing algebraic thinking. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards in order to correctly solve two multiplication problems. Each problem is comprised of two 2-digit factors.
This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).
This resource includes:
•30 different Time to Tile cards
•An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.
•Answer keys
•Management and organization tips for successfully implementing Time to Tile in your classroom.

Great for small group review!
These are great for review with my 6th graders. These are perfect for small groups as well!
So much fun
Students really enjoy working in pairs to solve these math puzzles.
I have quite a few of these resources and absolutely love them. They definitely make the kids think to solve!
These math tile resources are some of my favorite on TPT! They are highly engaging and encourage critical thinking . . . a skill that so many of our students are lacking. These can be used as independent work, or students can work with a partner. Sometimes I use them as center work, but I have also used them in my small groups. I like to watch students work through problems while I gently guide them if they get stuck. Take my money! I will buy them all!
This was a very engaging and fun activity for my students to use especially the ones who were finding it difficult to grasp. These resources never disappoint.
