Description
Time to Tile: Balancing Addition is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and algebraic reasoning while developing a deep, conceptual understanding of equations. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the open squares to balance the values of each scale. This math tile set requires students to decompose numbers by utilizing advanced reasoning skills.

- 30 different Time to Tile cards
- An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.

I love these number tile puzzles. I use them mostly for fast finishers, but sometimes use them as a math station. I appreciate the recording sheet for accountability!
I love all these math tile resources. This was a great one to use at the start of the year.
My students found it challenging at first, but once they got the hang of it they LOVED it. I can't wait to use these tile games in math centers all year long.
I use these as a warm up and they work great. Students can work at their own pace.
This is a great early finisher activity as well as an independent activity for my EL students who are working on simple adding. Thank you!
