Description
Time to Tile: 2 by 2 Add and Subtract is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond the procedures and rote memorization of double-digit addition and subtraction. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while building a true understanding of adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards to correctly complete two addition and two subtraction problems.
This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).
This resource includes:
- 30 different Time to Tile PRINTABLE cards
- An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.

Wonderful resource for visual learners!
Perfect resource for students that love to draw/color while they listen. It is one more way to ensure that the learning gets into long-term memory storage. I appreciate the conceptual understanding that is reinforced in each of the doodle notes.
