Description
I made these reading comprehension strategy cards based on my all-time favorite professional development book; Strategies that Work, by Harvey and Goudvis. These cards can be used in multiple settings (e.g., Guided Reading, Shared Reading, etc.) and with any level text. I print them on colored card stock, laminate, and the kids use post-its on them. However, they can also be printed on plain paper and used as traditional graphic organizer.
There is one card for each strategy:
-Determining Importance,
-Making Connections
-Visualizing
-Synthesizing
-Inferring*
-Asking Questions*
* Inferring and Asking Questions cards have two unique sides. The other cards are meant to have two identical sides.

These cards were very helpful for my junior high ELA classes.
I love that this resource provides both classroom posters for student reference AND activity graphic organizers to practice the strategies.
I absolutely love this resource as a great supplement. It makes the teachers life so easy but it also allows the students to be engaged in learning! It has made my instruction so much better and I can not wait to continue using this in my classroom!
I would recommend these to any colleagues who struggle to develop visuals as they are working to build reading comprehension skills in their students. What an easy to use tool! Thank you so much.
I laminated the cards so we can use them during read alouds. Works great!

Hi, I just purchased this product. It is exactly what I am looking for. Is there a way to print 4 posters on one page? I would like to print mini posters instead of the large formatted ones.
The only way you would be able to print them onto one page would be to go to the print preview and change the page sizing and handling. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an editable version of this resource because it was created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Also, we are prohibited from providing editable versions of resources that contain commercial graphics.
