5th Grade Daily GRAMMAR Language Spiral Review Morning Work [Editable] Test Prep
Angela S.

It is way to hard to start the year. I can not do several mini-lesson everyday.

Teacher Thrive

This resource is not designed around a particular scope and sequence since many teachers follow different timelines.

Since Daily Spiral Reviews cover all standards, students are exposed to concepts they may not have had formal instruction on. Unfamiliar content presents a great opportunity for you to build background knowledge and assess where your students are before you even teach a specific lesson.

The best way to use this spiral reveiw is to begin with whole-group lessons where you model and discuss each activity. I don't worry too much if there haven't been formal lessons on a particular concept; I treat those items more as a preview. After a few weeks, the students really start grasping the format, and you can begin to transfer the workload to them. Eventually, when the students work independently on the review, you will spend time correcting and discussing their work in class.

As mentioned above, students will encounter concepts they are unfamiliar with. This is a GOOD thing, I promise! We don't always have the answers or know the procedures to solve problems. It's beneficial to expose students to "unknowns"; they become less sensitive to the uncomfortable feeling of "not knowing" and are less likely to panic.

However, you can always use the editable version (open in PowerPoint) to remove/change any review items you like.

in "our new neighbors painted their house and replaced the windows" what is the diagram answer

Robin G.

On the INB page, should it say "Simple" instead of "Single" in the strips below the explanations?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! Thanks for reaching out. "Single" is correct because these sentences only have one subject or predicate. They are not compound subjects or predicates.

Retha R.

I love this product, but I am having the same problem I notice a lot of people are having with the highlighting. I downloaded the font, but that didn't help. Is it a way to move the highlighting around?

At this point, I can't use the PowerPoint.

Retha

Teacher Thrive

Hi Retha. Sorry for the inconvenience! Everything should line up just fine after you download those two fonts. Are you opening the file in the latest version PowerPoint? If you are still having difficulty, please contact TpT so they can troubleshoot this with you directly. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Contact

Lorie D.

I'm having the same issue many people are having with the highlighting not matching up. I tried downloading the fonts, but that hasn't fixed the issue. Is there another step?

Sharon D.

Is it possible to change the colors in the. presentation (I use colors to match the multi-sensory grammar I use)?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Sharon,
No, they are not editable because they are images that embedded in the background to preserve the fonts that were used.

Julia P.

Is there a digital version of this?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Julia,
This is the digital version.

Jennifer A.

Are these ready to use for online instruction? Our district uses Canvas. We do not use Google at all.

Teacher Thrive

We are adding Google Form versions of the practice printables, task cards, and assessment by the end of Aug. However, I don't know if those are compatible with Canvas.

Raquel K.

I purchased this product and am excited to use it but on the Power Point slides 6 & 7 the simple subjects and compound subjects are highlighted incorrectly....it is like the highlighter is just shifted too far. Does it show up like this on your end? Just wondering how can I adjust that if possible. Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Please download these two free fonts, and then everything should line up perfectly:

Samantha S.

Do you sell the sketch notes as a bundle separately? (Or would you consider doing so?) Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hello! No, these are not sold separately.

Nicole D.

I tripled checked for a notes and comments slide in the PowerPoint, and there isn't one...
