Description
Expanded form and word form can be a tricky concepts for students, but they are so important for understanding place value.
Expanded Form and Word Form (whole number to the millions) math center is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while building a true understanding of expanded form and word form up to the millions. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards in order to correctly solve to place value problems.
This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).
This resource includes:
- 30 different Time to Tile PRINTABLE cards
- An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.
- Answer keys
- Management and organization tips for successfully implementing Time to Tile in your classroom.

My students would use this during our "Math Path" time or when they compeleted all other math work. I loved them because they made the students think.

These activities have been helped “spice” up my research lessons for students who still struggle with place value concepts. Students enjoy the texture of the tiles.

I also purchased this today and the digital Google slides was not the place value that I was expecting.

I just purchased this product to use today. The answer recording sheet is for skip counting, not word form/ expanded form. What am I doing wrong?
