5th Grade Daily MATH and GRAMMAR Spiral Review Bundle Test Prep
Abigail S.

My daughter did not enjoy this at all. We normally always start out in the morning with some worksheets. In this case there were many things that were thrown at her that had little to no explanation and some were completely new to her. I ended up deleting the file since we never use it now. I really thought this would be a good course for us.

Teacher Thrive

<p>Hello, Abigail. Did you see the detailed teaching notes and grammar student handbook included in the resource? Hopefully those tools help explain the concepts.</p>

3rd Grade Daily Math Spiral Review [DIGITAL]
Laura K.

I was excited about this resource. But NOTHING about it has been easy. I don't believe the positive reviews, unless they are not using them daily, or they did not mind adjusting the settings on 144 forms because the settings are ridiculous.

1) "We don't use any student identifiers..." That is the DUMBEST thing I have heard of. Did I miss something and teachers have stopped asking their students to write their names on their papers because we don't need to identify whose work is whose anymore?? As of now, when 20 kids finish a form, you have NO idea who's response is whose. No joke. What the actual heck? So plan on opening 144 forms and setting EVERY ONE to collect email addresses (or whatever you prefer, but that's the easiest for my students).

2) To create the forms, you have to click on an individual link, click make a copy, and then you have the word "copy of" in front of every form. There are lots of better ways the seller could have gone about this with a little research.

3) When I make a form, I try to get the total to be out of 100 points, so that every score is consistent and means something to my students (<70, needs to ask for help from me, 100=all correct, etc.). Every purchased form I've bought has been out of 100 points. These forms are all out of different numbers-8, 16, 22, etc. There is no consistency throughout the week, no way for students to compare scores, and their scores don't means ANYTHING to them or me if I don't have a calculator handy. Just DO BETTER.

4) The other settings are GARBAGE too. Students cannot see the questions that they missed. What kind of teacher doesn't want students to see what they got wrong? I normally DON'T want my students to see correct answers, because I want them to be able to go back and try to find their errors and correct them themselves, BUT on a DAILY SPIRAL, when time is short and they may/may not have been introduced to the topic, I find that student learn a LOT form seeing the correct answer. This setting was also unchecked.

5) There is no logical order to the review questions. There are not models to help compare fractions mid year, just 2 fractions and students are asked to compare. Maybe some schools in Texas teach things in different orders, but we don't teach fractions that early, but they sure as heck could be reviewing place value or multi-step addition/subtraction problems.

If I were selling a product and knew there were 144 individual forms, I would have done the work myself, and given options: This link will give you forms with these settings; This link= these settings...etc. To say that teachers can "easily" change the settings is ridiculous. It is TEDIOUS, easy to miss an important setting like collect EMAILS, and THAT'S WHY I PAID YOU. I should have realized there were teachers out there that don't think about the "little things" and read the fine print or comments before buying.

I WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN for the hassle of making these work.

Hello, I love this product but want to be able to edit it for my less motivated students. For example, I want the discussion director to write a specific number of questions. Unfortunately, I do not have a PDF editor. Do you have a Word or Google version of it that you would be willing to share?

Teacher Thrive

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide an editable version of this resource because I created it using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

Lindsay H.

Hi there,
This is a great resource, but it only comes in PDF, I would also like my students to be able to type on the documents. Can you remove the password protections so I can convert to word documents?

Teacher Thrive

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide an editable or unlocked version of this resource because I created it using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

Melissa M.

Hi there. I am interested in purchasing the Depth and Complexity Lit Circle product, but I just had a question about the roles - does each group need to include all of these roles? I prefer smaller groups than this in 8th grade. If I do smaller groups, are there particular roles that must be included? Thank you! Melissa

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Melissa! Great question. You can omit some of the roles if needed. However, it might be easier to manage if you assign students two roles at at time.

Trisha L.

Thank you for your response! It wasn't a question about Schoology, however. I want to post each individual role, but can't because all the roles are in one pdf file. Have you considered doing a zip file instead so that teachers can download individual roles? Otherwise I'll have to take a screenshot of each one, and that never translates well into a Google doc. Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Trisha. My apologies for the misunderstanding! Unfortunately, I don't have any other versions of this. We are unable to provide an editable version of this resource because it was created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. The PDF pages are locked, so you will not be able to extract pages. You should be able to create a copy of the PDF and then extract the pages from there, or select certain pages to print as a new PDF.

Trisha L.

Hi! Thank you for this great resource. I want to post the individual roles on Schoology, but I'm not sure how to do that when the resource is one pdf file. Any tips? Thank you!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Trisha! Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with Schoology, so I really couldn't say.

NICOLE C.

Hi, thank you for this product. I am not allowed to use EASEL at my school. Would you be able to provide an editable document to me? Similar to what you have on EASEL? I am required to use Microsoft teams. Thanks for the consideration! Nicole

Teacher Thrive

Hi Nicole. This resource also includes the PDF file.

Jennifer M.

Hi! I purchased the product, but there seem to be two copies of the same black and white series of job descriptions and sheets. Was there supposed to be something else included - a color version or other activities? The product is 30 pages but it is really 14 pages twice. Thank you.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Jennifer,
I'm sorry, but I am not sure I am understanding. Two versions are included, with and without icons.

Isabella V.

I want to use your resources to aid my classroom teaching on OutSchool. How do I do this without violating DMCA? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you.

Teacher Thrive

Hello. Thanks for reaching out. We prohibit the use of our materials for commercial purposes on platforms such as Outschool.

Kristin B.

Hi There,

I purchased this awhile ago. With distance learning occurring, would you be willing to update this to have a Google Slide version? I tried to convert it to a PowerPoint but it requires a password.

Teacher Thrive

Hello! Unfortunately, we do not have plans to create a digital version of this resource at this time. We are unable to provide an editable version of this resource because it was created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. The PDF pages are locked, so you will not be able to extract pages. You can create a copy of the PDF and then extract the pages from there.

Kacee D.

Do you have a list of all the standards this resource aligns with?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Kacee,
No, we do not have a standards correlation chart for our Depth and Complexity resources.
