Nice job!

Dara H.

This is a fantastic resource. Thank you so much

Katie G.

These are tough! I love them. They are aligned with Common Core, and good!

Teacher Thrive

Hi Kaitlyn! Thanks for the feedback. The are a bit of a challenge at first, but after a few weeks your students will become familiar with them and improve greatly.

Laura B.

Love this resource! Great if you want some of these skills to be drilled into the students' minds through repetition however I wish the activities varied a little more from week to week!

Kelly S.

I tried your 1st week for free and just had to buy the entire year! Great resource. My students have created a Google Grammar Handbook to go along with your grammar lessons. Thanks!

Teacher Thrive

Thank you for your feedback! I just wanted to let you know that reformatted this resource with a cleaner, easier-to-read font, and I will be adding a student handbook soon! Make sure to download the latest version under "My Purchases."

Hello, is this similar to what what is available on dgppublishing.com? I’m trying to understand which is more what I need. I teach Grammar using Shurley English and need my students to link their grammar skills with their writing.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Jessica, I’m sorry but I’m not familiar with that program. Please download the preview for a detailed look at my resource. Hopefully, that will help you compare the two programs.

wendy F.

I love how quick and easy this is to use. For some reason, I'm having trouble locating the Answer Key. Is the file labeled with the word "key?" I've downloaded this into Google Drive.

Teacher Thrive

Hello! The answer key is at the end of the pdf file.

Yvette G.

About how much time a day does the program take?

Teacher Thrive

It really depends on your students. The first few weeks will take a bit longer as you model the review for your students. After they get the hang of it, it should only take them about 10 minutes a day.

Yvette G.

Does this program include spelling?

Teacher Thrive

Hi Yvette, The review does include a couple of spelling related items. However, it isn't meant to be a comprehensive spelling program.

Kelly P.

Hello! I really like this product, but I am wondering how to incorporate it outside of a straight review. How do you teach daily grammar for 7th grade standards prior to the students being ready to review with your spiral review? I see the corresponding interactive notebook, but I do not see teaching and practice activities that would presuppose the review element and that the interactive notebook notes would support. Am I missing something? What is your approach? Thank you!

Ok! I do see your prior response to another question outlining your organizational timeline. My question still stands about what resources you are using to initially practice the introduced grammar skill, like five practice examples once you’ve taught the skill, etc.

Teacher Thrive

Hi Kelly! When I used the same resource in 5th grade, I did the first few weeks in a whole-group setting. This allowed me to model each concept and discuss with the students. After a few weeks, students were able to take on the work load themselves. I will be creating a more explicit year-long grammar curriculum for 7th, but that is several months out.

Brittany B.

How do the Latin/Greek roots in the 5-a-day compare/correspond to your Latin/Greek roots (books 1 and 2)?

Teacher Thrive

Hello! The root activities in the 5-a-day were selected based on frequency and utility in regards to 7th grade. If you download the preview of the Get to the Root of It books, you can see precisely what roots are included. While there is some overlap, the roots in the two resources do not perfectly align. Please let me know if I can be of further help.
