Too much for my struggling 6th graders
I have to buy the 4th grade one because this one is too difficult for my students.
I loved this resource! It was a great review of the week’s morning work. I did however, struggle with the fact that it was an assessment to be completed on Friday, as when I purchased the original bundle, I thought it included Monday-Friday, but it ended up being only Monday to Thursday and then I had to purchase a Friday assessment, and I didn’t intend to have an assessment every week or spend that much money!
These are great to use in the morning when students are trickling in from the busses.
These made great bell ringers for my middle school students. The questions were challenging for some of my students and led to a great review of skills they were missing.
A coworker suggested I alternate using the Language and then the math. The Language was rigorous starting week 1, but manageable. The math for week 1 was too challenging for my class because it incorporated skills I hadn't yet taught being week 1 like graphing integers. I'll probably start this in a few months when I've had a chance to expose my class to some 6th grade content. My class is an average performing group of students where 70% scored proficient or advanced on the CAASPP test.

Hello. It really depends on the state. I believe the MAP assessments are tailored to each state's standards. This resource is well-aligned with all state standards for 6th grade. However, you'll want to review your standards to ensure full compatibility.

If you edit this in powerpoint and save as a Google Slide, will the formatting be the same for students to work on?

Is it possible that I actually try out a single page of both the language arts and math? Some people said this was quit challenging. I’m looking for something that can be done as a review while I pull small groups for intervention. I’m not sure if I should buy the 5th grade version to ensure the students can work independently. I’d really like to try out a sample of the 6th grade version first.
