WHY SKETCH?
Sketch notes present your students with a meaningful and engaging activity they will love. Doodle note-taking activates verbal and visual modalities to capture concepts. The whole brain is absorbed in hearing, synthesizing, and retaining ideas. This high level of engagement helps students retain the content and leaves little room for distraction.

Clear, Easy to Use, and Attractive
I used this as part of my interactive math notebooks for 5th grade. I thought it was easy to use, had students write the most important information themselves, and provided a useful reference to look back on. It was also very visually appealing which I thought was a real benefit to the product.
Well-Crafted
I really like these math sketch notes! They make the concepts easier for students to understand and give them a fun way to organize their thinking. The visuals are engaging without being overwhelming, and they are a great resource to use for instruction, review, or student notebooks.
Easy to follow the steps
This was a great strategy for students and easy for them to follow along with note taking.
I am hooked on Sketch Notes!!!!
These sketch notes have made my students become more accountable for taking notes. In 5th grade, we start practice note taking skills in order for the students to be ready for middle school. Many of the students were not doing anything with their notebooks and would just watch me write. Since implementing the Sketch Notes, they are able to learn to gauge how much space is needed and what good notes look like. I will definitely continue to buy these bundles!
A well crafted assignment
I am always looking for different ways to engage the students in work. They like using other materials.

I tried to open these in Google Slides but it said the files #1 and #2 were too large. Please advise.
Hello! Sorry for the inconvenience. I just compressed the files a bit more. Could you redownload the resource and see if you're able to open it in Google Drive?
Why does the example say add and subtract fractions but it's showing multiplication?
Hello Kara! In order to make like denominators before adding or subtracting, students must first multiply by the GCF.
