They cover essential math concepts and procedures for students in a visually appealing way. You can use this resource to supplement any math curriculum, and it is perfect for previewing/pre-teaching or reviewing/reinforcing.
These sketch pages are like mini anchor charts that your students actively create and can be referred to in the future.
While these were specifically created for 5th grade, there are no grade-level indicators on the student materials, so you can use these with older students.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- Blank student note page (two sizes: 8.5 × 11 & composition notebook size for INBs)
- Detailed answer key
- Step-by-step PowerPoint
GUIDED NOTE-TAKING
Guiding your students through the note-taking process is so easy and requires almost zero preparation!
- PowerPoint: Each sketch note page comes with a step-by-step PowerPoint that you can use to guide your students as they complete their notes.
- Document Camera: Use a document camera to project a blank copy of the notes. Use the answer key provided to complete the note page in front of your students.
WHY SKETCH?
Sketch notes present your students with a meaningful and engaging activity they will love. Doodle note-taking activates verbal and visual modalities to capture concepts. The whole brain is absorbed in hearing, synthesizing, and retaining ideas. This high level of engagement helps students retain the content and leaves little room for distraction.

I thought that the first few were pretty decent, but it quickly became redundant. I wanted questions that students could have engaging conversations, but this left me disappointed. I teach all levels of 8th graders.
These were basically just the icon with boxes around it. I wish I didn't spend $5.50 on something I could have made in a very short amount of time.
Not what I was looking for. The resource is billed as good for Google classroom. Rather than a series of slides my students can go through, it was in Google forms. I can't use it. The powerpoint presentation is somewhat helpful, but I wish I hadn't bought it.
I wish there was a little more to this resource for the price. It's three google forms. Serves the purpose, just not super engaging for my kids.
Only four slides for the same price as ones with 12 or more?
Definitely unfair! My students were confused! Also, the slides weren't up to the standards and detailed as her other lessons. Makes me think what other lessons are the same as this one before I go and purchase anymore.

Is there a way for you to turn the ppt into Google slides? I have had our Tech people to come and look at my computer etc to see if they could figure out what was going on and they said that it looks like instead of it being a ppt that you saved it as something else. I really want to use this resource with my students.
Hello, Angela. All of the presentation files are saved as PPT. You should be able to upload them to Google Drive and open them in Slides without any issues. Perhaps you can send me an email with a screenshot of what error message you are seeing? info@teacherthive.com.
Hey I just bought the adding and subtracting decimals notes from you and I am not able to get the powerpoint to open.
Hello, Angela. I just checked the files, and they are working properly for me.
