Amazing Resource
My district does guided reading where we conference with students for 10-15 min at a time. I use these passages to chunk mini lessons tailored to each student. I use the questions for the standards they need focus in and have students practice those, vocab, and reading fluency. There are so many passages to chose from that can also coordinate with genre goals! Love it!
Such a handy resource
I have used these for multiple year levels and I think they're brilliant. They're great for a daily practice/review of skills being taught. Highly recommend.
Great product
I purchased this resource looking for additional reading practice that wasn't tied to a specific curriculum, and it has been a great addition to my 5th-grade classroom. The passages are well-written, engaging, and cover a nice variety of fiction and nonfiction topics. I especially appreciate that the questions require students to go back into the text and support their thinking rather than simply recall details.
Small group!
This helped me plan my small groups! The resource is very well organized
Amazing Product
My students love reading these texts. They are great for early finishers or take-home work. The content is very interesting to my students. The questions are perfect for comprehension practice.

Hi! I just bought this to use with my class and we are currently doing distance learning. I am trying to post just one passage but can’t seem to extract pages from the document. Is there any way I can do that ?
Hi Kaitlin,
The PDF pages are locked, so you will not be able to extract pages. You can create a copy of the PDF and then delete what you do not want, so that you have a version that you can share.
Will this resource be converted to digital?
We don't have plans to create digital versions of these right now. However, you are more than welcome to use them with just your students on a private platform like Google Classroom.
What are the Lexie level for the passages?
These passages do not have certified Lexile ranges. However, all passages are within a 5th-grade reading level.
I have purchased several items from you and I love them. I had purchased this item and am now unable to use it as we are distance learning and I have no way to share with my students. I did notice that another buyer mentioned linking items to her Google Classroom. I didn't know if this was a violation of your copyright or if it was ok since only invited students can see your classroom. Or sent as an email attachment? Sorry, just trying to do what is right, but sad that I can't use the resource. I understand if the answer is no.
Hi Leah
You are more than welcome to share my resources with just your students on a private platform like Google Classroom.
Have you created something like this for 6th grade?
We have not. This particular resource is available for Grades 3-5.
Are there any poetry pieces in this bundle?
No, these contain fiction and non-fiction passages.
I purchased the 4th and 5th grade but I was wondering if you have this for 6th grade?
Hello. We do not currently have this resource available for 6th Grade.
Is there an option to buy just fiction? :)
Hi there! Sorry, but I don’t have just the fiction available for purchase.
I'm going to be teaching a 4/5 combo this year, and instead of purchasing both the 4th AND 5th grade edition, would the 4th grade edition be appropriate for 5th as well? What's the biggest difference between the two, since standards are pretty much the same? Higher leveled passages? I may not be teaching 5th again, and I don't want to invest so much money in it.
I think the 4th grade edition could work!
Will you be making this for 6th grade soon??? :)
Hi Carmynna! Thank you so much for your interest. I hope to make this for 6th eventually, but it will be several months before I can begin creating it.
