An amazing resource...ready to go, engaging passages, and great questions to get the kids really thinking about what they read.

Allyson D.

I love that these spiral the different standards throughout the year. They do take a little time for students to complete, not as quick as I would have liked at times.

What does the Friday reading look like?

Are you able to put this on sale? I am a 1st time 4th grade teacher who would love to have this resource but my school only allows purchases of $15.00 or less. I would also love to purchase the 4th grade 5-a-day spiral, however, it is over $15.00 :(
Thank you

What LLI levels would you estimate these texts to be written at? I teach Special education and want to ensure I am purchasing the correct materials for the students I work with.

Teacher Thrive

Hello, Teona. While the passages do not have specific Lexile or F&P levels, they are all written within the range 4th grade reading levels.

I am looking for skills based passage bundles. For example, A passage that focuses on each reading skill for 4th grade. Specifically context clues this week. Do you have anything like that? Thank you

Tars P

I bought this to tutor a student last year, and then covid hit. The product, itself, is great. I love the paired text concept. All of your questions were great, and I only found a few mistakes in the answer key. The ony thing I would really change is to add a page with lines for a question that the teacher writes in, or maybe you, and lines where the students can use the R.A.C.E. answer method for citing evidence. That was really the only thing missing that I felt would have been a great opportunity while tutoring my student who was very direct and gave short answers without citation.

The other problem I ran into, during quarantine, is that I didn't have an easy way for him to answer the question pages and show me his answers in quarantine. I have an Android phone and PC. He had an iPad. We had to figure out some work-arounds. He also didn't have email except for a school account which is useless if he's not doing work to send to the school. So, I had to print each passage and questions on paper at my house, take photos, and email the photos to his mom's email, or delete off all the stories from the PDF, except for the one story we were doing that week, save the file, and then send it to his parent's email, at which point they had to print it out at home, he completed it, they took a photo, and emailed it back, and we discussed answers on a DUO phone call, as opposed to Zoom. Sometimes his mom made the mistake of texting me a photo of his answers, and then i had to take the extra step to share the photo with myself by sending myself an email, opening it up, and having it on my desktop computer while we made our DUO phone call.

This week, I finally looked into TpT Easel. It was pretty quick for Easel to generate a list of all my PDF resources. Then, I checked off which ones I'd let be an Easel activity. At this point, after submitting which PDF products sellers will permit to be Easel ones, the seller is done, basically. You, the seller, don't have to learn Easel and add a bunch of text boxes, unless you want to. The buyers can learn Easel, open the Easel product version, add the text boxes, delete your cover page, credits, TOU, and send the student pages to the student through TpT. The advantage is that unlike Google or PPT, or even a PDF, the buyer and students can never share or send on the file to anyone else. That's great copyright security for us sellers. Your buyers, like me, would LOVE an Easel version of the reading passages, and I think you'd increase your sales as well. a win-win!

By the way, are you still planning a June sale from your Teacher Thrive web site? Also, I loved your 6th grade spiral review for my daughter last summer. I'd love it if you ever decide to make a math book that (#1) is not spiraled, and also (#2) reading passages for 6th grade and 7th grade and math for 7th.

Teacher Thrive

Hello.

Thanks for reaching out! Would you mind sending us an email at info@teacherthrive.com with the errors you have found so that we can take a look?

We unfortunately have decided against creating a separate Google Forms version for the reading reviews because the conversion process is rather simple and easy for teachers to do. You are more than welcome to add screenshots of the passages to Google Forms and then add the open-ended questions below.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Easel. We haven't had the chance to really look into this, but hopefully can soon!

Yes, we are still having our VIP sale in June and will be sending out emails for that when we get a bit closer!
