Practicing - Repeated readings help students learn unfamiliar words and practice proper reading expression. Words that are learned during one reading passage, will transfer over to subsequent text. Here's the catch: You need to use leveled texts that are a certain length.

Monitoring - Progress monitoring not only informs instruction, but it also puts students in charge of their progress, which is a powerful motivator. Students can see their improvements in real-time and they know exactly what to do to achieve their goals.

All of the passages have certified Lexile® measures, so you can perfectly match them to your readers. The passage Lexile® measures increase in increments of 10, which allows you to expertly scaffold the program by increasing text complexity at a developmentally appropriate pace. There are two to three passages within the same Lexile® measure.
